For a stronger solution mix together one third cup powdered laundry detergent two thirds cup powdered household cleaner one quart liquid laundry bleach and one gallon of water. However they react negatively with ornamental plants as well as most vegetation killing them or causing wilting. Vinyl siding becomes dirty and stained over time. Today however there is a much quicker easier and less expensive way to clean vinyl siding effectively.

I find that ten minutes is just right. Scrub the spots on the siding and let the solution soak in for a few minutes. One way to avoid this is by laying a tarp over the plants you wish to protect during the wash. Scrub the siding from bottom to top with a long handled soft bristle brush.

No pressure washer required. Set your pump sprayer s nozzle to a wide pattern and evenly spray the bleach water solution onto the wet vinyl siding. Rinse the bleach solution off the siding from top to bottom with a garden hose. Allow the bleach solution to remain on the siding for 10 minutes or so.

If this is the first time cleaning vinyl siding with bleach water you might want to try a small section to test how long you will need to leave the solution on the siding before rinsing. Mold mildew and algae are just a few of the causes of dirty vinyl siding. Use a pump up sprayer to wet the siding down with the diluted bleach cleaning solution working from bottom to top. Use the recommended bleach or vinegar solution to kill mold and mildew on surfaces.

Rinse thoroughly to get rid of any leftover residue from cleaning products. Start with the most noticeable and difficult spots first to loosen them up.
